Epic Bike Rides of the World

Epic Bike Rides of the World

‘This is some high-class bike porn.’ Russell Baillie, New Zealand Herald

In this lavishly illustrated and inspirational Lonely Planet book, we write about two of the world’s greatest biking adventures – located right here in New Zealand.

One of these is the super-scenic Alps 2 Ocean that takes bikers from the foot of Aoraki/Mt Cook to the Pacific Ocean, a 300km-journey we first rode in 2015, not long after it opened.

The other is the Old Ghost Road on the West Coast, a much more challenging, multi-day mountain bike trip through epic wilderness. We’ve been riding and supporting this trail since the first section of track opened in 2013, and love it so much we helped publish a book about it – Spirit to the Stone.

In Epic Rides, these two Kiwi classics feature alongside around 200 others located all over the world, ranging from easy-going family jaunts and urban sightseeing rides to hard-core single-track adventures.
